Today, February 4, 2022, the semester vacations will start in Vienna, Lower Austria, and parts of the Czech Republic. ÖAMTC experts predict that there will be no major traffic jams this year.

On the major freeways and expressways (A1, A2, A10, S16), the convoys will be rolling. However, an accident or a defective vehicle can quickly lead to delays. On the main connections in Tyrol, for example on the Inntal Autobahn (A12) between Kirchbichl and Kufstein or on the Fernpass route (Nassereith-Füssen, B179), there will be occasional delays due to German ski vacationers.

Rainy influx will be in the local recreation and ski resorts. As has already been shown in recent weeks, traffic jams on the access roads and overcrowded parking lots occur here, especially in good weather, for example in the Tyrolean Zillertal (B169), in the Enns Valley (B320), or on Salzburg’s Gaisberg.

New vignette required in 2022
Since February 1, everyone who drives on freeways or expressways needs the adhesive or the digital vignette 2022. Please note that the digital vignette is only valid on the 18th day after the online purchase unless you buy it at an ÖAMTC base. Here there is the great advantage that the digital vignette is also valid immediately after purchase.
